About The Role Are you passionate about punctuation? A stickler for spelling? Mad about magazines? Future is home to some of the best-known brands in magazine and online publishing, and there's now an opportunity for you to sub-edit a whole range of fantastic titles through our in-house Editorial Production Studio. You'll be responsible for sub-editing copy and rewriting where necessary, proofing and fitting magazine pages in InDesign, and sub-editing material for websites. You'll receive hands-on training from experienced sub-editors and have the chance to work on a carefully planned portfolio of titles. There isn't a substantial amount of writing involved in this role - it's all about sub-editing. About You You'll need to have demonstrable skills in sub-editing - both with raw copy and Laid-out pages. It is essential that you have an excellent command of the English language, alongside exceptional levels of spelling, grammar and a keen eye for detail. A journalism qualification and/or equivalent experience of working in a magazine editorial environment is preferable. You'll have a passion for magazines and have a knowledge of, or an enthusiasm for, the subject areas of the magazines that Future publishes. In addition you'll preferably have experience of using an Apple Mac, Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Word. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines and as part of a team are essential, along with the commitment and reliability required for a role in this unique editorial support department.
