The successful applicant will be required to understand, influence and execute a strategy that fulfils that purpose. This is a technical role reflecting, my clients commitment to managing data as a very valuable resource and is at the heart of developing and implementing our data management principles and standards. Develop and own data standards and rules for the use of data across all commercial areas of the organisation Provide internal consultation to the organisation on data related issues Develop corporate and subject oriented data models or similar to facilitate delivery of data for whatever purpose to the business; including an enterprise data model Develop an enterprise wide metadata repository Define best practice for development of data transformation specifications Ensure appropriate company standards are adhered to in terms of data quality standards and data quality control processes Monitor technical progress, ensuring that co-ordination and change control are applied to data transformation specifications and to the data infrastructure The successful candidate will possess the following skills and knowledge: Knowledge of data architecture, design principles and standards Highly motivated with good analytical skills and an excellent communicator Experience of data modelling including producing logical and physical data models A clear understanding of relational database management systems, flat file data structures and the differences between he two Familiarity with project management concepts ideally including PRINCE2 Experience of developing, administering and maintaining metadata repositories Previous experience of working in a mission critical, real time 24x7 environment Financial Services experience with a specific focus on high availability transaction processing systems, ideally in payments or cards Enterprise level data architecture experience Aston Carter Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy....
