The Role / Candidate We are seeking to recruit a mechanical engineer who will become part of the Central Assembly, Integration and Test (C-AIT) department responsible for preparing for and performing mechanical preparation, integration and testing of flight spacecraft hardware. You will Lead a team of AIT engineers, responsible for producing test specifications from which test plans and test procedures will be produced to perform mechanical integration and testing of units, subsystems and spacecraft systems. You will be familiar with spacecraft integration, testing and handling and will have experience of environmental vacuum chambers, EMC chambers, Vibration and acoustic chambers, and part of the role will be to prepare for testing in these facilities. You will be required to travel and work overseas for periods up to 4 months when required to perform AIT spacecraft, environmental test and launch activities. Successful candidates will have as a minimum Qualification an HNC in a Mechanical Engineering discipline, clear report writing and presentation skills. Experience of mechanical testing on prime projects is essential. Knowledge of alignment techniques would be advantageous.
