Job Title – Security Specialist Location – Portsmouth Salary – £40k - £45k Company Details – Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of satellite systems. Their activities cover complete civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation systems, science and navigation programmes, together with avionics and a wide range of space equipment and associated ground infrastructure. They have business activities in France, Germany, Spain and the UK and are committed to development and delivery of cutting edge customer solutions that respond to current and future needs. Job Role – The Security Specialist will undertake a range of tasks associated with the system design, specification and accrediation of the security aspects of the system as well as liaising with and providing guidance to the implementation teams. The Security Specialist will primarily be responsible for the development, agreement and implementation of the cryptographic policies and procedures and will co-ordinate the accrediation aspects of the cryptographic equipment and systems. The Security Specialist will also be expected to provide on-going support to the wider system security activities including requirements implementation, providing guidance on and review of evidence associated with sub-systems security integration. The role will entail an element of overseas travel within Europe and occasionally to the UAE. Essential Skills – Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering/scientific discipline or appropriate military experience. Recognised experience in system security, a good understanding of the practical operation of cryptographic systems and key management and preferably a member of, or working towards membership of an appropriate professional body. Desirable Skills – Security Cleared, knowledge of satellite systems and a basic knowledge of the Yahsat system.
